All Contacts holds every contact you have, regardless of which lists they belong to. Contacts are what Contact Lists group together for campaigns.

Add a contact

1

Select New Contact

From the toolbar above the table.
2

Enter the phone number

International format, for example +35799123456. This is the only required field, and it is what messages are sent to.
3

Add a name and email if you have them

Both are optional. The name makes the contact easier to find later, and is available as a personalisation variable in campaigns.
4

Save

The contact appears in the table and the total above it increases.
To add many contacts at once, import a CSV file from Contact Lists rather than entering them individually. An import creates the list and its contacts together.

Find a contact

  • Search matches as you type, so pause rather than pressing a button.
  • Sort any column by selecting its header.
  • Page size is adjustable at the foot of the table.
The tiles above the table show your total contacts and total lists.

Edit and delete

Select a contact’s edit action to change its phone number, name or email. Deleting asks for confirmation. To remove several at once, check the rows and use the batch action bar that replaces the toolbar.
After deleting a large selection, confirm the resulting total above the table.
Deleting a contact removes it from every list it belonged to. To remove a contact from one list while keeping it in your account, open that list through Manage contacts on Contact Lists instead.

Export

Downloads your contacts as a CSV file. Select rows first to export only those.

Custom fields from imports

When you import a CSV, columns beyond phone are kept on each contact. Those become personalisation variables in a campaign, so a firstname column gives you {firstname} to insert into a message. See Send SMS for using them.

Troubleshooting

The phone number must be in international format, beginning with the country code and without a leading zero. The save action stays disabled until it is valid.
The variable name must match the imported column name exactly. An unmatched variable is sent as written.
A comma inside a CSV value shifts every field after it on that row. Remove embedded commas and re-import. See Contact Lists.
