A sender ID is the name recipients see as the origin of your messages. Every outbound message uses one.

You already have one

Every account is supplied with a sender ID named HEULLO, already approved and set as the default. New accounts can therefore send immediately without waiting for an approval. Request your own only when you want messages to arrive under your business name.

Request a sender ID

1

Open Settings and select the Sender IDs tab

Then select the option to request a new sender ID.
2

Enter the name

Letters only, between 3 and 11 characters. The field enforces this as you type: input is converted to uppercase, and any character that is not a letter A to Z is discarded.
Only letters are accepted, so entering SALE 2026 produces SALE. Review the value before submitting.
3

Submit the request

The sender ID appears in your list with status PENDING.
4

Wait for approval

A Primetel administrator reviews the request. Until it is approved the sender ID cannot be selected when sending.
Status APPROVED confirms it is available. It then appears in the sender ID list on Send SMS.
Choose a name recipients will recognise as your business. Recipients cannot reply to a sender ID that is a name rather than a number, so if you need replies, discuss an inbound number with your account manager.

Approval statuses

Some accounts are configured to bypass approval, in which case requests are approved on submission.

Set your default

The dropdown at the top of the tab controls which sender ID is preselected on Send SMS. Only one can be the default at a time.
Set the default to the sender ID you use most. It removes a step from every send and reduces the chance of a campaign going out under the wrong name.

Delete a sender ID

Deleting removes it from your account and from the selection list.
Messages already sent retain the sender ID they were sent with. The name is recorded on each message at the time of sending, so deleting a sender ID does not alter your history.

Troubleshooting

Only approved sender IDs are listed. Check its status on this tab.
Expected. Only letters A to Z are accepted, and everything else is discarded on entry. Digits, spaces and punctuation cannot be included.
The reason is recorded against the request. Sender IDs are reviewed to confirm the account is entitled to send under that name, so a rejection usually concerns entitlement rather than formatting.
Check which sender ID was selected on the send, and confirm your default is set as intended. If messages show a value you did not configure at all, contact your account manager.
